Let me first begin by expressing the thought that I knew I was in for a life changing experience, but my personal expectations where reached the moment I arrived in Dallas.
The day before I was planning on driving to Dallas (Monday 1/4/2010), I started getting hit with challenges that could have stopped me from making the trip. Situations and individuals I absolutely was counting on began making other plans on how they would get to Dallas. This did not stop me.
The day I was planning on leaving for Dallas, I was hit with more intense obstacles; to list a few - my right arm became immobilized for no apparent reason (this is a major issue because I was driving to Dallas), the child care arrangements I put in place one month prior to leaving, decided it would be too much work and could not watch my two boys (both with serious physical and emotional needs) I was planning on leaving only a few hours after dropping them off. I was in a panic!
Because of the sudden decrease in passengers, I had a major concern about the fuel. There were bills I paid smaller amounts on in order to make sure I was there. Last minute passengers wanting to make the trip, so a delay for leaving was made, only to find out they still could not go. Dropping off my boys with the sitters, my dog with my brother, picking up the first (now only) passenger, 70 miles away, WE are finally headed to Dallas.
Once arriving in Dallas, then I realize MY BAGS ARE NOT IN THE CAR!!! I do not have a change of clothing for this trip.
NONE of that mattered, I was there!! Dallas Jan 6, 7, & 8, 2010 was here AND I was where I wanted to be.
I had never personally met Jay & Carrier Noland, but I had heard some wonderful things about them. I knew Jay; ONLY, from the SG Heat calls, but already he had made a positive impact on my life. I had no idea it was just a "TASTE."
During the three day event, things were said, music was played, WE danced....HARD! We cried....HARDER! We openly expressed love for one another, people we only knew from FaceBook and the SG Heat Calls. ALL together watched SereniGy Global be born! And with the birth of SereniGy Global, many people...White, Black, Latina, Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Next... NO nationality and age differences, just people together working toward the same thing.....making a powerful difference in someone else's life.
EVERY tear, fear and challenge I faced was GONE!! I was SO happy to be there in DALLAS for a once in a lifetime extravaganza! Never to be repeated! My personal name took on its true meaning in Dallas....Kim is no longer trying, Kim is _________, that I have to thank Dr. Cornelius Drane Jr. for that insight. But only because of SG did I get to meet him.
And when I reflected over this experience, the one thought that stood out in my mind was......I owe Jay some more money! Well, $1 million could not have paid for that experience, so, I've decided the only way I can "Thank Jay" is to master MYSELF!
So my journey began, January 6, 2010....... Thank you for this opportunity to keep living a life worthwhile.
